Each row, column, and box (2x2, 3x2, 3x3, ... 5x5) contains each possible value exactly once.

In Sudoku puzzles 4x4 each row, column, and box 2x2 must contain the numbers 1 through 4 exactly once.
In Sudoku puzzles 6x6 each row, column, and box 3x2 must contain the numbers 1 through 6 exactly once.
In Sudoku puzzles 8x8 each row, column, and box 4x2 must contain the numbers 1 through 8 exactly once.
In Sudoku puzzles 9x9 each row, column, and box 3x3 must contain the numbers 1 through 9 exactly once.
